Freefly Astro Prime, the Blue approved drone powered by AuterionOS, has been released.
The Blue sUAS program is built to be the fastest and most cost-effective method available for sUAS to be purchased within DoD, which strategically allows OEMs that have blue-certified vehicles to directly sell their platforms to Government agencies.
There are many agencies that are operating UAVs within a government context which goes beyond the SRR (short range reconnaissance) use cases. Examples are Forest departments, Agricultural departments, Urban departments or simply companies operating in the Energy sector (powerline inspections for example) that are required to operate with BlueUAS certified hardware.
In this scenario, having a blueUAS certified hardware is a key requirement which otherwise would preclude those agencies from performing their job.
AuterionOS proved to be a cyber-secure operating system that empowers drone manufacturers like Freefly to build interoperable, NDAA compliant, blue certified systems.
