London, United Kingdom – January 28, 2025: Auterion, the leading provider of operating systems and apps for unmanned systems, has announced its launch in the UK. James East has been appointed as UK General Manager and Global Vice President to lead this strategic expansion and spearhead Auterion’s growth in the UK, delivering competitive advantage to customers across the government and enterprise sectors.
Auterion’s expansion comes as the role of autonomous systems grows rapidly, driven by falling costs and advancements in robotics. Auterion’s technology delivers a single basis to integrate different manufacturers into a common architecture, ensuring interoperability of systems for the customer. With applications across sectors, from defence to infrastructure inspection, Auterion enables efficient, secure, and cost-effective deployment of mass autonomous drones.
In the UK, Auterion is committed to supporting the Government’s economic growth agenda, and supporting efforts to strengthen domestic drone capabilities. Through contribution to the Ukrainian effort to combat Russia’s illegal invasion of their country and years of collaboration with US and European military partners, Auterion will bring proven solutions and expertise to future customers. With a team in the UK, the business will develop a resilient, localised supply chain to support domestic technology capabilities and leverage ongoing research and development activity in Switzerland and Germany.
Lorenz Meier, Founder and CEO of Auterion, said: “We are thrilled to launch in the UK and welcome James to Auterion. This expansion reflects our growing focus and investment in the market, and continued commitment to working with the UK Government and Ministry of Defence to further unlock autonomous drone technology. James’ leadership and experience in defence technology and market growth will be instrumental in advancing this mission.”
Prior to joining Auterion, James spent eight years at Improbable, where he played a key role in scaling and commercialising the British technology firm’s defence and national security arm. James started his career with the UK Military, before moving to Goldman Sachs.
